Run more business
with the team you have.
MerchGent learns the work of your trading company — the sourcing desk pushing factories in China, India, Vietnam, Bangladesh or Türkiye, and the sales desk closing orders with buyers in New York, London, Düsseldorf or Dubai. It figures out who sits in which seat, learns each person's voice, then drafts every reply each one owes — factory chasers and FOB pushes on the merch side, buyer follow-ups and order confirmations on the sales side, plus the weekly status that ties both halves together. By morning the drafts are lined up in your Drafts folder. You edit one line and send. The result: more orders booked, more orders shipped, fewer details dropped — without adding a single headcount.
Hi Rachelle,
Sample received and matches spec. Cleared for bulk production subject to the below:
- Color / finish must hold across the run — last lot drifted off-spec
- Need the final ex-factory date by Friday — buyer wants written confirmation
- QC report flagged 0.5% dimensional tolerance — please tighten before bulk
Production starts 28th — please confirm raw materials in-house by 25th.
Thanks,
Kish
How it works
No setup. No training. No prompts.
Most AI tools want you to learn them. MerchGent learns you. The whole onboarding is one click — your AI merchandiser is working by the next morning.
Connect your inbox
One click sign-in with Outlook. No prompts to write, no rules to configure, no templates to set up.
We learn your business
MerchGent reads three months of past email and builds a profile for every factory, supplier, buyer and forwarder you work with — plus a voice profile from your sent box. All in the background. Works across product categories.
Drafts only — never sends
Every hour, in your voice, in your existing Drafts folder. You edit one line and hit send. MerchGent never pushes email out on your behalf — that permission is locked off at the API level.
What MerchGent does
Smart teammates for both halves of a trading company.
MerchGent first reads three months of email, figures out who sits where (sourcing desk vs sales desk), and learns each person's voice. Then every hour it drafts replies in that voice for that desk — all inside your existing Outlook.
Knows who sits in which seat
Bootstrap reads each user's sent box and detects the role: sourcing-side merchandiser, customer-facing account manager, or both. Drafts get the right register — direct + technical for the factory thread, polished + relationship-aware for the buyer thread.
Tracks every vendor and every buyer
A live card for every factory, supplier and forwarder on the sourcing side; a live card for every buyer, brand and account on the sales side. Quote history, on-time rate, QC pass rate, last reject reason, open POs — surfaced the moment you reply.
Catches what's slipping — both ways
Production slips and failed inspections on the factory side. Delayed PO confirmations, unanswered RFQs and the discount you promised the buyer last Tuesday on the customer side. Flagged before either party chases you for it.
Writes the status updates
Monday WIP to the merch head. Weekly PO status to the buyer. Shipment-readiness note for landed-duty-paid. Quarterly account review for the sales head. Whichever you owe — drafted, sitting in your Drafts.
Pricing intelligence both directions
Every quote your factories give you, tracked over time — pushes back when they bump. Every price you've quoted your buyers, also tracked — helps your sales desk hold margin against the buyer's negotiator.
Gets sharper every week
Every word the user changes before sending teaches the agent. By month two the merch desk drafts sound like a senior merchandiser; the sales desk drafts sound like a closer. Not generic AI.
Why MerchGent
The most efficient hire you'll make this year.
MerchGent doesn't replace your team. It gives them back their time — so they can focus on the work only they can do.

FAQ
Things people ask.
Is this built for trading companies, or for brands?+
Built specifically for trading companies — both halves of them. The sourcing desk in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Mumbai, Tirupur, Dhaka, Karachi, Ho Chi Minh, Istanbul or Dubai juggling 20-50 factories. AND the sales desk in New York, London, Düsseldorf, Sydney or Toronto closing orders with brands, retailers and importers. The agent reads each user's sent mail and figures out which seat they sit in, then drafts for that seat's actual rhythm. We work across apparel, home goods, electronics, hardlines, food and beauty.
Does it work for the sales team too, or only merchandising?+
Both. The detection step at sign-up sees whether a user spends their day with factories (sourcing) or with buyers (sales). Each gets drafts in the register that matches: factory chasers and FOB pushes for merch, buyer follow-ups / order confirmations / pricing pushback for sales. Companies running both desks on Outlook usually onboard 4-8 seats — a mix of sourcing and sales people — and pay the same flat $100/user/month.
How is this different from Claude for Small Business or Microsoft Copilot?+
Those are horizontal tools — finance, marketing, CRM. MerchGent is vertical — built for merchandising specifically. It understands MCQs, knows the difference between a PP and a TOP, and tracks mill FOBs over time. Use Claude SMB for your invoices. Use MerchGent for your sourcing.
What does the AI merchandiser actually do?+
Reads your inbox every hour. Categorizes the routine emails (sample approvals, vendor confirmations, shipment notifications, etc.). Drafts replies for ones needing your input. Tracks every vendor, customer, and PO. Surfaces production slips, quality issues, pending decisions. Drafts your weekly status updates.
Does it send emails on my behalf?+
No. Hard rule — drafts only. Every email gets your eyes before it goes out. We request Microsoft's read-write permission but never the send permission. This is enforced at the API level, not just a setting.
What about my customer relationships? My voice?+
That's the point. MerchGent reads three months of your sent box on day one and builds a voice profile from your actual writing. Drafts read like you, not like generic AI. And it gets better every week — every time you edit before sending, it learns.
What's the bootstrap pricing about?+
First month is $200 — covers the initial deep-learning pass where MerchGent reads three months of past email and builds your vendor / customer / voice profiles. After that it's $100 / month flat. Cancel anytime.
Which email providers work?+
Microsoft 365 / Outlook today. NetEase Exmail (网易企业邮箱) and Tencent Exmail (腾讯企业邮箱) coming next — both heavily used by mainland China trading companies. Gmail / Google Workspace and generic IMAP in active development.
